Ignite your career with Centrax
We are offering school leavers a fantastic opportunity to jump onto an exciting and varied career path in engineering. Our range of apprenticeships in Newton Abbot are the perfect way to make the transition from an academic environment into the world of work.
What’s in it for you?
An apprenticeship with Centrax will allow you to work towards gaining nationally recognised qualifications in the field of engineering while also earning a wage. These programmes are designed with both the needs of students and the demands of a modern work setting in mind.
We offer a choice of two apprenticeships in Newton Abbot, allowing you to train as a mechanical fitter or an electrical fitter. These programmes run for four years and combine theory and guided practical work. We also offer a limited number of work experience placements.
While learning the essential theoretical basis of your chosen role, you will also benefit from working in a real industry environment in which to apply your growing skills, along with having the opportunity to also travel to depots and customer sites across Europe. This will be geared towards building the specialised skills you’ll need to help Centrax compete against our global competitors.
With the company engaged in every stage of the product journey from design to after-sales care, you’ll experience a wide range of engineering and business activities. Also, there will be opportunities to travel, since we carry out on-site work for clients in many locations.
What will you need?
For the chance of a place on one of our apprenticeship programmes, you’ll need to be an enthusiastic and hard working individual with a genuine interest in engineering. We’re looking for people who can demonstrate good teamworking skills and the motivation to develop the knowledge needed in this demanding industry. You must be prepared to learn the skills which are crucial to the continued success of Centrax and keen to build a career in the power generation industry.
You are required to have at least five GCSE’s, including
Maths, English and Science at grade 5 B/C or above. A/AS Level students and college students working towards NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualifications are also welcome to apply.
