Centrax are seeking a Goods Inwards Inspector to take receipt and inspect all incoming materials and components, including manufactured parts by Centrax, ensuring all purchase order and technical specification requirements are fully satisfied, particularly in terms of compliance with certification and drawing requirements.

Centrax are seeking a Goods Inwards Inspector to take receipt and inspect all incoming materials and components, including manufactured parts by Centrax, ensuring all purchase order and technical specification requirements are fully satisfied, particularly in terms of compliance with certification and drawing requirements.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Ensure goods are inspected (as required) and receipted into the system within the required period.
  • Reconcile any errors/differences with procedure and/or the supplier.
  • Ensure all parts are correctly labelled (including “shelf life” as appropriate) and passed to Stores.
  • Ensure all non-conforming products are recorded on the NCR system and returned to suppliers and the required transaction is performed on Syteline. (Non-conforming parts to be held in quarantine until resolution)
  • Work with Procurement, Quality and the Supplier to resolve Non-conformances. Filing of all incoming certification/delivery documentation electronically into the Document Management System.
  • Check the documentation against the requirement on the purchase order.
  • Any missing/illegible documents are obtained from the supplier.
  • Ensure documentation is tagged correctly when checking into the DMS – i.e. purchase order number/serial number/supplier/part number. Where required ensure HS&E documentation is received, including COSHH information, and is passed on to the HS&E Department. Lifting Equipment documentation should be passed onto the appropriate person for updating the Lift Register. Maintain the Goods-in area in an organised manner at all times, ensuring that parts are clearly identified. Any other support required within the Department.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential:

  • Experience in a Goods Inwards role dealing with documentation such as: 3.1 Material Certificates, Declaration of Conformity, PED/PE(S)R/ATEX
  • Good computer skills. Programs used: Excel/Word/Outlook/Lotus Notes/Syteline/M-Files (
  • training will be provided for Syteline & M-Files)
  • Good communication skills – working with all levels within the business

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing/Engineering background would be advantageous
