Resident Service Engineer – Italy

Centrax Italia srl is seeking a resident Gas Turbine Service Engineer to assist with all aspects of service and maintenance activities to ensure the highest quality of support for the customer at all times.

The role is global, multi-disciplined, and includes mechanical, electrical and electronic skills. The work is usually carried out at the customer’s site, so the engineer must be able to work on his own initiative and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Attending site to carry out regular maintenance inspections
  • Assisting the Service engineer to ensure the work is completed to the required quality standard and timescale
  • Forming and maintaining a good working relationship with the customer
  • Assistance with the preparation of accurate reports and timesheets using the current Centrax system
  • Work within the current quality management system requirements
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks
  • Preparation for and implementation of the annual pay review for both UK based and overseas staff
  • Specific liaison with overseas employees and advisors as required to ensure consistency in the management and application of Centrax policy abroad

Knowledge & Skills

Skills:

  • Demonstrate the necessary skills to carry out the following tasks
  • Assist with annual and intermediate maintenance inspections
  • Assist with engine removal and installation
  • Complete service reports, timesheets and expense claims correctly, completely, and in a timely manner
  • Correct use of the Centrax stock system
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Centrax Systems

Knowledge:

  • Principles of a gas turbine
  • Principles and advantages of CHP installations
  • Understand the Companies' Policies on health & safety, quality, and the environment
  • Be aware of the health & safety of yourself and of others, and be able to identify hazards and act to reduce risk

Attitude

  • Motivation: Respond positively, and show adequate motivation to requests and tasks detailed by service supervision
  • Flexibility: Show flexibility to respond effectively to unplanned events such as breakdowns and sudden work plan changes
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team
  • Timekeeping: Maintain prompt timekeeping at all times when both attending site and in Centrax, including overseas Depots
  • Appearance: Maintain a smart and professional appearance at all times when on company business, especially when on site, but also in Centrax or Depots.
  • Behaviour: At all times when on company business, demonstrate an acceptable level of professional and mature behaviour
  • Conduct: Ensure that the Centrax Handbook guidelines on conduct are followed at all times
