Centrax Gas Turbines is an international business specialising in the manufacture, installation and support of Combined Heat & Power Gas Turbine Generators for a Europe-wide customer base.

Centrax International employs teams of Resident Technicians within European Countries to provide maintenance support and emergency repair of generators for customers throughout. The Resident Technicians are assisted by Pool Engineers from the UK to provide the level of service required by Customers.

The Secretary provides a full range of admin and secretarial services to support the Department’s operations and reports to the manager and technical supervisor.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Acting as a first line of contact, passing on telephone messages to colleagues in charge, making sure that phone calls are replied to
  • Assistance of manager and technical supervisor, generally and for individual tasks
  • Correspondence with customers, main office and suppliers in German and English language
  • Data administration, electronical and paper filing of documents
  • Control of schedule compliance and deadlines
  • Planning and organization of services according to instructions of the supervisor and in close coordination with customers and postprocessing work
  • Assistance of Accounts Department and Customer Support for invoicing, payments, quotations, transport, import/export
  • Translations German – English on request
  • To professionally represent Centrax Gas Turbine Division to all external parties.

Person Specification:

  • An experienced secretary/administrator with experience of working with Word and Excel and capability to familiarize with company specific programmes.
  • A good level of literacy with the ability to draft letters, reports etc.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and to work to tight deadlines. The Secretary will work for a number of different people and have multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills - ability to take messages and to assist customers over the 'phone.
  • A team player, who is keen to get involved in all aspects of the department's work.
  • A good level of spoken and written English will be essential.
  • Flexibility with respect to working arrangements, eventually work of additional hours on occasions.
