Strategic Sales and Marketing Manager

Centrax are seeking a Strategic Sales and Marketing Manager to be responsible for liaison within the Sales Team for sales and marketing activities within their nominated territories.
This role will be primarily based in Newton Abbot.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Initial evaluation and appraisal of potential projects, to determine product suitability and feasibility with relevant Sales Team personnel.
  • Commercial review of Clients’ legal, technical and commercial requirements, verification of costings and compilation of project specific information with input from the Sales Team.
  • Preparation of project costings to be included quotations with assistance from the Sales Team.
  • Negotiation and closure of all commercial and contractual aspects of sales, including contract signature with delegation to Sales Team personnel as required.
  • Management of the sales process, to include the preparation and submission of quotations internally, to the Client, and to suppliers with the assistance of the Sales Team.
  • Ongoing Bid Evaluation – liaise with Clients to resolve questions and queries related to quotations.
  • Risk Review – identification, management and resolution of project risks via internal Risk Review process.
  • Manage the internal handover of projects, and compilation of all relevant documentation for handover to the Projects Department, on the successful outcome of the quotation procedure and the acceptance of the Client’s purchase order.
  • Marketing – to include proactive development of social media initiatives. Carry out market surveys to provide current market requirements to the Sales team.
  • New Business Development – identify new territories, products and market offerings such as, data centres, hydrogen and biofuel applications.

Knowledge & Skills


  • A professional with a recognised degree
  • Proven track record in Sales and Marketing
  • Industrial Experience, typically power generation and/or rotating machinery industries
  • Supervisory training and experience
  • Results-focused with excellent prioritisation and self-organisation skills
  • Strong People Management Skills
  • Collaborative approach
  • Fluent English
  • Experience of high value contracts, bids and negotiations at Director level
  • The ability to travel regularly overseas (often at short notice)
