Centrax Gas Turbines has been awarded MROC status by Siemens Energy, allowing Centrax to maintain, repair and overhaul the Siemens Energy SGT-A05 gas turbine at their new MROC facility at the company’s headquarters in South West England.
Centrax, no stranger to the SGT-A05, has been packaging the gas turbine for almost 40 years and until recently has only been able to carry out maintenance to the hot section. The move to MROC status will mean that Centrax’ fleet of operational turbines can now be fully repaired and overhauled by one party, delivering a faster and more efficient turnaround for customers.
Kevin Steele, Director at Centrax, commented: “This is a great milestone in the Centrax/Siemens Energy relationship which illustrates the excellent levels of trust and confidence held within our partnership that is vital to delivering Centrax’ fast and responsive support to customers”.
Speaking on behalf of Siemens Energy, Robert Bouwens, Director of Global Sales, SGT-A05, commented: “We are very proud to have Centrax as our partner. They have proven their capabilities through our almost 40-year partnership. Following a rigorous audit, Centrax has been granted our license as a certified MROC facility to service their packages. Centrax’ depth of experience and customer focus will ensure continued world-class service and solutions for the SGT-A05”
The SGT-A05, formerly known as the 501-K, is the core gas turbine installed in over 340 Centrax CXA05 generator packages. These units are situated at sites predominately in Europe and North Africa. With its 3.9 to 5.7 MW power range and high levels of operational flexibility, the SGT-A05 gas turbine is well suited to a range of applications including CHP, standby and oil and gas processes.
