Resident Service Engineer – Republic of Ireland

Centrax is seeking a highly motivated Service Engineers to carry out all aspects of service and maintenance activities to ensure the highest quality of support for the customer at all times.

The role is Republic of Ireland based, multi-disciplined, and includes mechanical, electrical and electronic skills. The work is usually carried out at the customer’s site, so the engineer must be able to work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision. Start date will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment screening.

The role is Republic of Ireland based, multi-disciplined, and includes mechanical, electrical and electronic skills. The work is usually carried out at the customer’s site, so the engineer must be able to work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Attending site to carry out regular maintenance inspections
  • Fault diagnosis and repair on all Centrax supplied equipment
  • Work to an On Call system and take direct customer calls providing technical advice and/or mobilising to site at short notice
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with the customer
  • Preparation of accurate reports and timesheets
  • Work within the current quality management system and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Work safely and with consideration for the safety of others
  • Perform duties in our Limerick Service Depot as required for the smooth operation of the country service support. Duties can include managing depot stock, tooling, equipment while maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering
  • Fault diagnosis experience and knowledge for Electrical and Mechanical equipment
  • Be aware of the health & safety of yourself and of others, identify hazards, carry out a risk assessment and prepare a method statement.
  • Current valid Driving Licence and unrestricted Passport

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
  • Principles of operation for Diesel/Gas Engines or Gas Turbine driven Power Generation
  • Experience of in-depth fault diagnosis and repair on Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Knowledge and experience of High Voltage Generator control, protection and Synchronising

  • Flexibility: Show flexibility to respond effectively to unplanned events such as breakdowns and sudden work plan changes, to include out of hours and weekend work as required.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team but also be able to work independently when required
  • Timekeeping: Maintain prompt timekeeping at all times when both attending site and the Limerick Service Depot.
  • Professionally represent Centrax Gas Turbine Division to all external parties.
